My passion for visual art and my curiosity about social and anthropological worlds have always driven me to observe, reflect, and tell stories in a critical and creative way, maintaining an authentic approach that preserves human quality in a world increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence.
My photography is a journey into intimacy and memory: each image tells, with aesthetic sensitivity and constant exploration, stories, people, dreams, memories, and realities.
With a meticulous eye for detail, light, and color, and a spontaneous, cinematic style that blends art, fashion, and design, I translate my vision of the world into images that come to life.
BIO
Marlene Bialas, of Italian and German descent, was born in Milan in 1998. After completing her studies at a Classical High School, she decided to pursue her passion for photography, enrolling at the Mohole Academy of Photography in Milan. She was later admitted to the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, where she specialized in cinematography and graduated in October 2024.
During her years of study, she had the opportunity to participate in various experiences that allowed her to grow both artistically and professionally. She took part in inspiring workshops, such as the one with photographer Simona Ghizzoni on portrait and self-portrait in social storytelling at the European Photography Festival. She also participated in Out of the Box, an innovative program where she had the chance to engage with experts from diverse fields—botanists, neurologists, composers, and urban planners—exploring collective intelligence and the future of moving images.
Over the years, Marlene attended masterclasses with renowned film masters such as Paolo Sorrentino, Damien Chazelle, Martin Scorsese, Luca Guadagnino, and Vittorio Storaro, enriching her education with insights and guidance from some of the best directors and cinematographers on the international stage.
She has worked as Director of Photography on five short films, one documentary, and the Campari commercial Red Rail, presented at the 81st Venice International Film Festival.
Alongside her film career, Marlene has been working as a freelance photographer since 2019, creating images for backstage shoots, events, weddings, portraits, and corporate photography for website redesigns.
